HAZEL DRIVE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN

COQUITLAM, B.C.

CLIENT:  HAZEL DRIVE RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION

Residents of the Hazel Drive neighbourhood believed they were being left out of the City’s planning process for the development of the Burke Mountain Neighbourhood at the north end of Coast Meridian Road.  The residents of the large rural lots in this area were convinced their properties had the same development potential as other areas in the Burke Mountain Plan area.

Forming a residents association and action committee our firm was retained to assist the owners conduct their own studies and planning exercise to present to City Council in support of their effort to have their property included into the development area.  Studies and mapping of sensitive environmental areas, natural water courses, projected traffic impacts, road network needs, school population projections and proposed servicing concepts were all completed by a team of coordinated professionals.  These studies and reports were used as the basis of a proposed long term land development concept for the neighbourhood and presented to the City of Coquitlam.
