TRENANT PARK SHOPPING CENTRE

LADNER, B.C.

CLIENT:  K. D. STEVENSON DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

The quiet historic fishing village of Ladner was centered on the traditional small commercial core but was struggling to provide the commercial needs of a growing family community.  The shopping centre proposed by our clients was always conceived as a compliment to the historic downtown as a way to provide for shopping and service opportunities the village could not but would attract tenants that would limit the need for residents to shop outside of Ladner.

Through an extensive community consultation process that included surveys of residents as well as existing businesses we were able to develop a concept that would serve the diverse needs of residents and existing commercial operations.  In fact, the Ladner Business Association became the strongest supporter of the new shopping facility.

The new development was able to attract major anchor tenants Safeway and London Drugs as well as national tenants such as Starbucks, Subway and a Shell Gas Bar.

In addition to the commercial complex a significant and unique residential complex was developed on the eastern portion of the original site.  The project consists of grade level townhouses with multi-family units above the concealed structure parking which hides behind the street accessible townhouse units.
